1) Declaration What the Administrator agrees to pay for

The Administrator agrees—subject to the terms, conditions, limitations, exclusions, and deductible—to pay for repair or replacement of covered vehicle components that fail as a direct result of a mechanical or electrical breakdown occurring during the contract term.

2) Coverage Mechanical & electrical component coverage

Coverage applies to mechanical and electrical components of the covered vehicle, subject to authorization requirements and benefit restrictions in this Agreement.

2.1 Propulsion, Powertrain & Drive Components

  • Internal Combustion Engine (ICE)
    internally lubricated/mechanically driven engine parts, timing assemblies, cooling/lubrication, intake/exhaust manifolds, fuel delivery, ignition, engine-mounted accessories, and emissions-related devices.
  • Hybrid & EV Systems
    electric drive motors, inverters/converters, HV battery modules & BMS, HV cabling, contactors/fuses, onboard chargers, DC-DC converters, thermal management, and related sensors.
  • Transmission & Driveline
    automatic/DCT/CVT/hybrid transmissions, torque converter, valve body/solenoids, fluid systems, driveshafts, CV, hubs, differentials, transfer cases, and hybrid motor-generator driveline units.
  • Powertrain Electrical/Controls
    fuse boxes/relays, voltage regulators, PCM/TCM, controllers, OBD modules, and security modules related to powertrain operation.
  • Thermal Management Cooling
    coolant circulation systems, oil coolers/heat exchangers, and related control components.

3) Electrical & Components

  • Vehicle control modules
    ECU/TCU/BCM, ABS/ESC, airbag module, HVAC module, BMS, infotainment head unit, ADAS controller, and related ECUs.
  • Cabin electronics & actuators
    window regulators/motors, lock actuators, mirror motors, seat motors (heated/cooled elements), HVAC actuators/blower, sunroof motors, liftgate latch actuators, steering column motors, ambient lighting modules, wiper motors, rain/light sensors.
4) Exclusions Items/conditions not covered
General
Paint, upholstery, trim, convertible tops, weather stripping, body/frame damage (cosmetic/structural/corrosion)
System Exclusions
  • All gaskets, sensors, wiring harnesses associated with engine/transmission/differentials/transfer cases
  • Exhaust after-treatment systems
  • All A/C systems
  • Luxury/non-essential cabin electronics
  • Wheel alignments
Component Exclusions
  • Manual hydraulic clutches, wheels
  • Batteries & battery clamps
  • Fiberglass, glass
  • DPFs, glow plugs
  • Struts, shocks, mounting hardware
Tire Limits
  • Road hazard only
  • Max $30 CAD/repair or $150 CAD/replacement
  • No abuse/collision/defects/racing/vandalism/theft/improper alignment or inflation/wear
Usage & Condition Exclusions
  • No coverage if vehicle is >250,000 km or >10 years at time of breakdown
  • No salvage titles or prior water/flood/fire damage
  • No improper/non-compliant repairs/modifications
  • No acts of nature (fire, flood, hail, lightning, earthquake, windstorm)
  • No preventive maintenance or replacement without a covered failure
  • No annual mileage above 20,000 km (re-registration/fees may apply if exceeded)
  • EV batteries/HV components excluded unless expressly stated as covered
  • No racing/competitive driving
  • Towing over 2,000 lbs requires Administrator-approved towing kit
  • Vehicles over 14,000 GVWR excluded
  • No aftermarket/modified/non-approved parts unless authorized in writing
  • Vehicles with manufacturer-rated towing capacity over 15,000 lbs excluded
Commercial Use

If the vehicle is used for commercial purposes and generates income (e.g., ride-share), a Commercial rate subscription may be required.

5) Emergency Roadside Assistance Max $800 CAD total per contract
Towing: 160 km twice or 320 km once / $400 CAD value Tire change: $100 CAD per incident (spare required) Battery service: $100 CAD per incident Fuel/Oil delivery: $100 CAD per incident Authorization not required for all roadside services
6) Additional Benefits Courtesy negotiation + rental + trip interruption
  • Repair negotiation assistance: courtesy only; not coverage or reimbursement.
  • Car rental allowance: up to $50 CAD/day for 4 days (prior authorization + receipts).
  • Trip interruption: breakdown >160 km from home; hotel accommodations up to $100 CAD/day for up to 2 days (prior authorization + receipts).
7) Claims & Maintenance Eligibility requirements & how claims work

Maintenance Obligations

  • Maintain the vehicle per manufacturer schedule; keep complete records.
  • Take reasonable steps to prevent further damage after a breakdown.
  • Contract is valid only if ownership can be verified and all applicable fees are paid in full and remain up to date.
  • Owner responsible for diagnostic charges before coverage confirmation.
  • Time-and-materials/open-ended diagnostics excluded unless authorized.
  • All repairs require pre-authorization (except permitted roadside services).
  • Repairs must be performed by a licensed repair facility.
  • Administrator may inspect vehicle and require relocation (relocation fees covered by Administrator).
  • Replacement parts: genuine/new/rebuilt as determined; used/aftermarket excluded unless authorized in writing.

Claims Process (Quick Steps)

  1. Stop operating the vehicle and contact the Administrator before repairs.
  2. Repair facility diagnoses and submits findings + estimate for authorization.
  3. Upon approval, authorized repairs proceed per contract terms.
  4. Owner pays the deductible and any non-covered or over-limit charges; claim approval, where applicable, is typically provided within 24 hours.
  5. If you did not proceed through the claim authorization process and are requesting reimbursement, submit the original itemized invoice and proof of payment.
8) Contract Terms Territory, liability cap, arbitration, cancellation
  • Territory: Canada and the United States only.
  • Liability limit: not to exceed vehicle actual cash value/book value (valuation guide).
  • Disputes: binding arbitration unless prohibited by law (costs shared unless otherwise determined).
  • Term: 1 year or 20,000 km, whichever occurs first (re-registration may apply if annual distance exceeded).
  • Cancellation: may be cancelled; if a claim was paid, remaining balance becomes due upon cancellation.
  • Transferability: non-transferable; new subscription/activation/approval required for another vehicle.
